International Luminaries Raise More Than $15 Million For Education Initiatives At 6th ROTA Gala Dinner

Attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Father Emir, and Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Reach Out To Asia’s (ROTA) biennial Gala Dinner and auction raised more than $15 million this evening to help fund education initiatives in marginalised communities across Asia and the Middle East. The prestigious event, which took place at Al Shaqab in Doha, was attended by: His Royal Highness Al Waleed Bin Talal; Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, Chairperson of Reach Out To Asia (ROTA); Her Excellency Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Vice Chairperson and CEO of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF); and His Excellency Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani, among other members of the royal family.

Reach Out To Asia Concludes First Phase Of RYSC Leadership Training Programme

Reach Out To Asia (ROTA), in partnership with ExxonMobil, concluded the first phase of its annual RYSC Leadership Training programme aimed to develop the leadership, communication and community service skills of youth in Qatar. More than 45 young men and women, aged 16 – 26, participated in several workshops over the course of four days. The workshops covered a number of topics including social development management, team leadership, human resources development, financial visualisation and budgeting, and marketing. In addition to the workshops, participants took part in practical team building exercises.

A host of local and international celebrities will attend the Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) Gala Dinner at Al Shaqab on 19th November, which will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar. The event aims to raise funds for ROTA’s educational programmes that provide marginalised communities in Asia and the Middle East with access to quality education and learning facilities.

Reach Out To Asia Signs MOU with AFIF Charity

Reach OutTo Asia (ROTA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AFIF Charity to promote cooperation and joint initiatives that aim to engage children and youth in quality education programmes. The MoU establishes a framework for cooperation between ROTA and AFIF with the aim of supporting marginalised communities and crisis-prone countries with low educational indicators. Joint action will include the organisation of educational activities and fundraising events as well as the promotion of knowledge sharing and analytical work among other aspects of mutual cooperation in a bid to improve the quality of education.

Reach Out To Asia Teams Up with CARE International Pakistan to Empower Women Through Education

Reach Out To Asia’s (ROTA) work with CARE International Pakistan is helping children and young women gain better access to quality primary and secondary school education as, while literacy rates among girls in Pakistan are improving, a large gender gap in literacy persists. Indeed, according to the Gender Equality Report on Pakistan, even though there have been substantial improvements in both boys’ and girls’ primary school net enrolment since 2003, the net enrolment of girls at primary level remains low at 67% compared to 81% for boys.
