Project Overview:

JogJakarta has been affected by many natural disasters in the past decade. On May 27, 2006 an earthquake struck the city, killing over 6,500 people and destroying the homes of over 1 million people. Most schools have been destructed and many children do not have access to education. ROTA aims to increase access to quality education in the affected remote village of Bayat.

Description:

Phase I of the project is building an integrated primary and secondary school and providing all the necessary furniture and equipment. Project includes building 18 secondary classrooms, 6 primary classrooms, science and computer laboratories, an auditorium and a library. The second phase of the project is the implementation of an education plan focusing on conducting workshops and training programs for teachers, students and the community.
