Project Overview:

On October 8, 2005 a 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck south Asia devastating areas in Pakistan. The earthquake left 1.6 - 2.2 million children severely affected, creating a number of educational challenges. ROTA with its partner the Qatar Red Crescent (QRC), have joined efforts to assist in restarting education activities in the most affected districts in Pakistan. ROTA's goal is to assist the Pakistani community to restore some of the education systems that were affected and destroyed due to the latest earthquake.

Description:

The first phase of the project is the reconstruction of seven temporary schools and libraries - three Primary schools and four Middle schools. Phase II involves building ten permanent schools, fully furnished and equipped. In order to enhance the quality of education in these schools and in the community, ROTA is committed to assisting in the training of the teachers and the students
