ROTA Donates $1 Million In Humanitarian Aid To Gaza

Summary: 
Qatar-based NGO Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) today pledged US$ 1 million in humanitarian aid to Palestinians living in the Gaza Strip, currently reeling under heavy hostility. Over 300 Palestinians have been reported killed after the deadly assault. The donation, to be made available in collaboration with ROTA's local partners in Gaza Strip, is part of ROTA's relief assistance and solidarity with the Palestinian cause. ROTA has also expressed hope that the humanitarian aid would help alleviate the sufferings of the Palestinians.

ROTA and Save the Children Collaborate to Support Children in Gaza Strip

Summary: 
Qatar-based NGO Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Save the Children Sweden (SCS) - an NGO committed to defending children's rights - in order to create safe learning environments for the children in Gaza Strip (Occupied Palestinian Territory). ROTA and SCS will collaborate towards the creation of Safe Areas for Emergency Education (SAfEE) in the Gaza Strip, benefiting over 2000 boys and girls (10-14 years old) and 48 teachers.

ROTA's achievements in Nepal

Summary: 
A delegation from Qatar-based NGO Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) returned last week from a volunteer trip to Nepal. Forty volunteers from 6 schools of Qatar, together with ROTA staff, visited Nepal to offer educational support to three primary and elementary schools located in mountainous villages.

UNESCO sign cooperation pact to boost educational goals in Asia

Qatar-based NGO Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) today signed a letter of intent with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to strengthen their collaboration around existing education projects across Asia, including the Middle East. The agreement was signed by H.E. Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, Chairperson of Reach Out To Asia and Mr. Koïchiro Matsuura, Director-General of UNESCO during a special ceremony which was held at the Four Seasons Hotel, Doha.

ROTA's "Wheels 'n' Heels 2008" charity event a grand success

 "Wheels 'n' Heels 2008", the third community fun day organised on Friday ROTA, was a runaway success. The event received a phenomenal level of support and participation from people of all walks of life in Qatar. The charity event took place on February 1, 2008 in the Sheraton Park on the Doha Cornice and was graced by the presence of H.E. Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al-Thani, H.E. Sheikha Sara Bint Hamad Al Thani and H.E. Sheikha Hind Bint Hamad Al Thani, who also participated by either walking or riding bicycles on 'The Circuit', which covered three kilometres
