Nepal
Nepal is one of the most geographically and culturally diverse countries in Asia. Becoming a republic in 2006, the country has made considerable progress over the last few years towards reducing poverty; however, it is still one of the poorest countries in the region.
Adding to challenges of the country is the regularity of natural calamities that hit the country. Flash floods and landslides are common; unfortunately, a one third of those affected are children. In addition, children are neither prepared nor involved in immediate disaster response, and post-event rehabilitation.
