Goal:
 

Upon completion of the construction of the school in 2011, which constituted Phase 1 of the project, the Prime Minister of Cambodia renamed the School to the Hun Sen ROTA School, as it is currently known.

As one of our guiding principles, we believe strongly in volunteerism and base our overarching goals on its foundation. Investing in the strengths and knowledge of the various communities in Qatar, the ROTA Volunteers Program aims to indoctrinate the spirit of volunteerism and encourage involvement in community development both in and outside Qatar.

Inspired by The Heir Apparent H. H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's call for strong and active organizations to work on developing active and involved Qatari society, ROTA’s community development strategy supports the establishment of a secure and stable society operating on the principles of justice and equality.

In partnership with Mercy Corps, ROTA joined the Global Citizen Corps (GCC) in 2009.  The program’s goal is to inspire and equip an expanding network of young leaders to take informed actions that build and secure productive and just communities throughout the world.  Qatar joins a host of other nations in the network, including the United States, United Kingdom (Scotland), the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Iraq, Lebanon, Pakistan, and Indonesia.

The IDP education program was a response to the emergency situation from constant military activity in Malakand, Dir and Buner Districts.

The Professional Support Program (PSP) consists of three major components:  training, follow-up, and support material provision.  At the end of the academic session, teachers went through a comprehensive refresher course. All trainings were conducted by resource persons from the Association of Academic Quality.

ROTA has always believed that sports are an excellent platform to promote confidence-building, and personal and social development. Building on the excitement of the 2010 World Cup, ROTA and Mercy Corp developed a leadership program using football as the mechanism for delivering the initiative.
