ROTA and strategic partner Mercy Corps collaborated on two main projects in the conflict-ridden country to increase access to educational facilities in both the Al-Zubeir and Al-Fao districts.

Objectives:
 

  • The Centre will accommodate sports and training activities (football field, basket ball and volleyball courts, computer training room, multi purpose sport hall for indoor activities, tailoring training hall, an admin section, a store and sanitary facilities)
     
  • The overall goal of the project is to harness youth potential and talent to promote creativity
     
  • Objectives of the project: Improve access of the youth to information technologies and essential computer skills; Improve access of youth in Al-Zubier to proper sports facilities; Women empowerment through literacy training and access to information

 

 

Expected Beneficiaries:
 

Youth Centre: 1,200 females and 3,500 males (Total of 4,700)         

Intermediate School: 300 students and 20 teachers
