Participants at Previous iEARN workshopsAs part of its commitment to supporting Qatar’s K-12 schools, Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) is inviting teachers to discover more about the International Education and Resource Network (iEARN) at a series of professional development workshops hosted by the ROTA iEARN-Qatar team.

On Saturday, 13th October, ‘Introduction to iEARN projects’ presents iEARN and iEARN projects, and enables experienced teachers to implement iEARN Projects in their classroom and collaborate online with members of the iEARN Community.

On Thursday, 18th October the ‘iEARN-Qatar and the ROTA Knowledge Network’ workshop focuses on providing teachers with all the necessary tools and support to successfully implement iEARN Projects in their classrooms. Teachers will develop their knowledge of Project-Based Learning (PBL) and project planning, become members of the ROTA Knowledge Network community, and create an Online Project Portfolio.

In addition, iEARN-Qatar is hosting two hands-on tutorials on Sunday 21st and Monday 22nd October to give iEARN-Qatar the opportunity to further develop teachers’ professional skills and identify projects to be implemented in their classrooms.

Schools and teachers are also advised that attending the iEARN-Qatar workshops and implementing an iEARN project in the classroom helps teachers to attain their National Professional Standards for Teachers (NPST) license awarded by the Supreme Education Council of Qatar.

“We encourage all K-12 educators to grab this opportunity to join iEARN-Qatar and the ROTA  online community,” says Mr. Pascal Siegel Online Education Manager, ROTA
“Teachers attending iEARN-Qatar workshops will benefit from the online support,  the resources and  tools available on the ROTA web site. They also have the opportunity to collaborate with an international community of 2,000,000 educators and students on the iEARN International web portal”.

Teachers who join the iEARN-Qatar program will have a higher chance to attend the conference and meet educators and students from all over the world!.

ROTA encourages teachers to register ASAP since places are limited.
