Construction of a State of the Art Intermediate School for Girls – Al-Fao District

The project focuses on improving access of female students residing in seven villages to intermediate education and reducing the number of dropouts by at least 50%. Through creative activities and access to information technologies and training in essential skills, the project aims to help the girls realize their true potential and give them hope for a better future.

Objectives:
 

  • The school will include a campus of school premises, a theatre, IT labs and facilities for sports and arts (including special facilities for people with disabilities)
     
  • Project includes outreach component to encourage all families to send their girls to school. The school curriculum will include transformative activities including ICT, art programs, physical education, community service, health education, home economics, theatre and other programs to develop interpersonal skills of women
     
  • Objectives of the project: Improve access of girl students living in 7 villages to intermediate education and will reduce number of dropouts by at least 50%; Enhance the opportunity of the intermediate level girl students to realize their potential in creative activities; improve access to information technologies and  essential skills.

 

Expected Beneficiaries:

Youth Centre: 1,200 females and 3,500 males (Total of 4,700)         
 

Intermediate School: 300 students and 20 teachers
