Qatar-based NGO Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) has announced that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with Doha-based Jaidah Group serving both organizations' common goal to promote education. Jaidah Group has committed itself to support ROTA for the next two years with funds and efforts, contributing this way to the realization of ROTA's long-term plans for a better future and Education for All across Asia and the Middle East. Within this framework, Jaidah Group became the exclusive sponsor of the 2008 ROTAQ Ramadan Project, which includes distribution of groceries and appliances to poor families, cooking and distribution of hot Iftar meals during Ramadan as well as The Sidra Tree Campaign in four malls of Doha. "The agreement signed between the two organizations demonstrates how a goal can be achieved with team work. And the goal is only one: fight illiteracy, one of our continent's biggest ills. We appreciate ROTA's work and we want to embrace it with our sponsorship. I am more than convinced that our cooperation will be very fruitful and I am looking forward to "feel" the results", said Bengt Schultz, CEO of The Jaidah Group. Additionaly, ROTA, whose charity work is mainly focused on education, will launch a literacy campaign tailored for the Jaidah Group employees and other groups, as part of the Jaidah Group's Corporate Social Responsibility strategy. The Jaidah Group will be the launching partner of this Corporate Literacy Campaign in Qatar and in countries where ROTA implements education projects. Through this cooperation, the Jaidah employees will be empowered and engaged to participate in 3 community impact days, designed and executed by ROTA, based on employee interest and community needs. Omnia Nour, Director of ROTA, said: "By supporting ROTA, Jaidah Group helps millions of children across Asia to make their dreams come true. On the other hand, by educating Jaidah employees, ROTA gives them the opportunity to live a brighter future. This cooperation is a milestone for both organizations and a resonant message to other big companies that can make a difference."
